Merry Christmas!
Posted on 06 Dec 2008 @ 15:54
I know it's not quite the holiday yet but this might be the last log for me til after that clusterfugazzi called "Christmas". We are going to Sundance! Well, I am not actually going physically but will be there celluloidly. The film I did back in the spring called "Grace" has been accepted to the Sundance Film Festival. Not sure of exact details, just got a message from a very proud Paul Solet, the writer/director, last night. It was a feature we shot in Regina, Saskatchewan that has got kind of a vampirey-sci fi, love story, drama thing going on. Don't quite know what that means in terms of when you can see it, but when i know, i'll pass that info along. I am off to Seattle for a couple of days. LOVE Seattle. For Christmas I am off to this rather high-end health spa in the hills near San Diego. I know.....look at me! Well la-tee-dah, Ferris! It was a birthday present from near and dear family friends. It's all very healthy and lovely. Yoga, hiking, meditating, guest speakers, phenomenal food grown there on the property etc..... Not your typical debaucherous Christmas filled with spiked egg nog and crazy family members but i am not really into the Griswald Family Christmas style gong show......for those of you who don't know, the Griswald's were the family from National Lampoon's Christmas comedy movies with Chevy Chase as the dad. Something always went wrong, the christmas tree caught fire, someone got stuck in the chimney, grandparents got electrocuted ..... etc.... slapstick stuff. So my Christmas dinner will probably be organic beets and wild brown rice. Hmmm. The only Christmas where i will come back healthier then when i left. A novel idea. So whatever you are up to, wherever you are in the world, and regardless of your crazy uncle Tom (cause every family's got one), hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and a healthy, happy new year. May 2009 bring peace and happiness to all of us. Around the globe and in our own lives. A rather sage friend of mine always picks three things to work on about herself for the upcoming year. Mine are gratitude, tolerance, and positive thinking. Be happy. Be safe. xo
Hey Sam! So good to hear from you! Going to Seattle huh? I'm just three and a half hours from there! Have you ever visited Portland? If you haven't, its beautiful... I'll be watching for details on when we can see it, and can' t wait! Have a great holiday and think of us Griswolds. Stay safe! Sandi Fandom Rocks By sandi @ 07 Dec 2008 08:46 am Hi Sam Healithier after Christmas then before? Hehe, I'm not sure I could handle that. I'll think of you while I'm enjoying all my Christmas goodies :p I hope you have a great Christmas; you'll always look fantastic regardless of where you are or what you're doing (in my humble, uneducated opinion). Until next year, Cyas Jake By Jake @ 07 Dec 2008 12:13 pm Hi Sam Your Christmas sounds like it'll be interesting, and I hope it's a good one. Nothing wrong with having a healthy and relaxing break. Merry Christmas and a very happy New Year. Janine xx By Janine @ 07 Dec 2008 01:25 pm Hey Sam! Congratulations on your film getting accepted! I hope us rabid fans can see it sometime soon! Wow, sounds like you are going to have a different christmas! I hope you really enjoy yourself! We don't decorate our house until christmas eve, but I've already started my shopping! Here's hoping we'll have snow in the UK this year. So Merry Christmas, and I hope you have a wonderful time. And have a good new year too, and I'm sure 2009 will be a great year for you! Take care Alyssa By Alyssa @ 07 Dec 2008 10:07 pm Have a wonderful time at the spa, Sam. If I get one of MY Christmas gifts, it'll be to see you back on SUPERNATURAL! Love, Robin By Robin @ 08 Dec 2008 04:54 am Hiya Sam! Eating healthy on Christmas? Wowzer!! I would ask you if you would like a Labatt's Blue with me, but then again, I'm also trying to eat "healthier" for the winter season. Luckily, I work at a health club (a YMCA) here in the lovely midwest, the beautiful Hudson, Wisconsin, or "God's Country" as they coined it around here. It would be awesome if you ever came around here; I'd give you one of my free guest passes and let you in for free! I agree with Robin; I want to see you back on "Supernatural" again as Ellen Harvelle. Have a wonderful Christmas, and have a wheatgrass shake for me, girl!! By Annie @ 08 Dec 2008 08:06 pm Hey Sam! Congrats for the movie accepted at the Sundance: I'm sure you're proud of your work! About Christmas... It's a very good idea spending holidays at a spa: sounds fun and much more relaxing that those spent with a big, noisy (and nosy, in my case) family... No cooking needed, no headaches due to screaming children... Here in Italy Christmas is all about family and relatives. I think I'm starting to consider the spa thing myself!!! hihihi I hope you'll have an awesome and relaxing Christmas and an extraordinary 2009! Buon Natale e Felice Anno Nuovo! [it's just the italian version for 'Merry Christmas and Happy New Year' hihihi] hugs Eleonora By Eleonora @ 09 Dec 2008 12:57 pm A big storm is headed for SD right now. I hope that your spa isn't near any burn areas. But it looks OK for Xmas. Just don't go over to TJ. It isn't safe. But you are close to some Indian casinos if you have wheels. BTW, Black's Beach is a bit cold this time of year. By Walter @ 13 Dec 2008 11:24 pm Merry Christmas Sam! Have a great time at the spa and congrats on the Sundance Film Festival. *Hugs* Chisie By Chrisie @ 14 Dec 2008 02:42 pm Hi Sam Guess I owe you the $5. I was convinced it would all work out. In the meanwhile hope 2009 turns out to be a wonderful year for you. Al'adin By Al'adin @ 16 Dec 2008 06:36 am Seasonal Greetings from good ole Vienna. Maybe you remember me from the Eyecon 2008 in Florida. We had a blast. Your Christmas "special" sounds great. I love this idea! It's so different. Congrats on "Grace". Sundance must be awesome. I wish you all the best for you and your loved ones. And especially for you lots of health, luck and success. Take care my far away friend ((((hugs)))) Gaby By Gaby @ 22 Dec 2008 12:06 am Samantha, Seasons greetings for for a wonderful Christmas Holiday! I'm volunteering at the fire station today and we have been watching episodes of The 4400 on DVD. It was nice to see you as Nina Jarvis again! Best wishes as we bring in 2009! Anthony By Anthony Harbour @ 25 Dec 2008 02:10 pm Hi Sam, Well, we just want to tell you we had such a great time with you at the Ranch. We were trying to get you out of your quiet shell, so I hope we were successful. You're a real character who we liked immensely. You're yourself and that's how it always should be. No airs or put-ons. We wish you all the best that life can offer and a new year filled with happiness. BTW, you can check Evan's band, Alternate Sound of Life (ASL) at www.myspace.com/alternatesoundoflife. We'll always have the fondest memories of you and, hopefully, will meet again sometime. If you ever come to So.Cal., make sure you let us know or there will be trouble. By Stan & Evan @ 26 Dec 2008 11:13 am the guys above (Stan and Evan) were my partners in crime at the health ranch......more on that when i've got time...tomorrow is new year's eve.....y'all stay out of trouble and we'll see you in 2009! xo By sam @ 30 Dec 2008 11:57 am You probably get alot of this but I'm really quite angry with the way Supernatural just seemed to drop you. We won't see S4 in the Channel Islands until late January, but I hear you're still not in it. I'm not sure what I really felt for Ellen as a character except she came across as strong and deep, but it just feels wrong that she's disappeared. I feel that most of the females on the show have been very badly treated and not just by the creators; I think the fans have over reacted at times and behaved like a bunch of spoiled brats: So there's some female recurring characters - Oh no! Is it really time to wet ourselves in fear? Anyway, rant over now before I bore you to death (if you even bother reading this - 'cos I wouldn't in your shoes!). Hope you had a great christmas and heres wishing you an even better New Year my darling! Kind regards, ST xxx By Skag Trendy @ 02 Jan 2009 03:40 pm Hi Sam Happy belated New Year; hope it was a good one for you. Until next time, Cyas Jake By Jake @ 05 Jan 2009 05:17 am
