birthday disaster!
Posted on 11 Nov 2008 @ 20:12
Hi gang, I swear to god....they say that the universe only gives you what you can handle....so the universe must think that i have a remarkable sense of humor because my birthday was an absolute disaster! First though, THANK YOU! Kim, you cheeky gal. Didn't know you were going to throw that surprise at me and it was very nice to see upon my return from Mexico. Thank you for all your birthday wishes. I am very touched and i really needed the 'hug'. wouldn't know where to start and not going to bore you with the details, but the trip was a wash.....let's just say that. I was going to Mexico to visit a guy who i did not know that well (there was my first mistake) but went on a 'oh, what the hell....' Whim. Took a leap of faith for my 40th birthday. After all....Marilyn Monroe always said that some of her best decisions were made with 'oh, what the hell". I am no Marilyn Monroe. It was horrible......i got drunk.......he got mean and nasty..... so on the morning of my 40th, i realized that this was just not going to get any better so i requested that he drive me to the nearest city, Cabo San Lucas, where i spent the rest of my lovely vacation, by myself. The 'by myself' part was okay.....i am very good traveling on my own and actually do two weeks every year in Mexico by myself anyway, but i was not anticipating this turn of events for MY 40TH BLOODY BIRTHDAY! I thought it might be spent drinking champagne in a bathtub with a rather hot and lovely man......instead, it was at at the beachbar of a rather expensive hotel drinking something called a Sunset Bonito Surprise, and crying my poor little eyes out. I think that is what the drink was called. Not sure but i drank about 12 of them that day. Nice way to ring in 40, huh? Words of wisdom: do not go across a continent for a 6 day visit with someone you don't know that well......take a smaller leap of faith. How about a weekend...start with that. I was a romantic fool and thought it would be okay. it ended up being an expensive and very stressful 6 days that i will never get back. Anyway, the hotel was lovely....right on the beach in Hermano Bay of Cabo San Lucas. Gorgeous. Water was like bathwater and it was hot hot hot. Met some great people and did make the best of a rather cruddy situation. He never even wished me a happy birthday. Think he did it out of spite. So there is my drama. Acting? Nothing much going on. No auditions recently. Very quiet. Strike talks still looming and the economy is unstable. hopefully the Presidential news will settle everything down and we can all get back to work. Not sure how much stuff they will shoot before Christmas. Will keep you updated. Thanks again, lovlies. Birthday wishes from you all was very needed and very appreciated. xo Sam
Hey Sam! Awww, I'm so sorry that your birthday didn't quite go as planned. But you seemed to have made the most of it, which I admire! I think I would have gone racing home again (in fact, I wouldn't have been brave enough to try in the first place), so I think you should still be proud of the fact that you were brave enough to take that leap of faith. Too bad the acting front is quiet. We miss you on our screens! I hope everything gets sorted out soon! Take care Alyssa xoxo By Alyssa @ 11 Nov 2008 10:17 pm Hey Sam! Your welcome sweetie! Oh no you had disaster on your birthday. :( It's happen to me when I turned 21 year old and had birthday disaster. Nobody prefect on birthday. But least you had a good time in Mexico. Thank you for sharing about your vacation story. I hope next year will get better on your birthday. ;) oxox&hugs Elisa By Elisa @ 11 Nov 2008 10:22 pm Holy crap! I'm sorry that guy was such a dick! I say you get a do-over for the 40th. Seriously. I hope you get slammed with auditions now. The universe kinda needs to say "sorry for sending the jerkwad your way". *hugs* By Kat C. @ 11 Nov 2008 11:18 pm Hi Sam, sorry to hear that things didn't go well on your birthday. I'm also grateful that things didn't go worse. Mean and nasty is just a small step from meanier and nastier. Hope you are well, and things can only get better, right? By Trik_Ster @ 11 Nov 2008 11:35 pm Oh my goodness Sam, I'm sorry the guy turned out to be a jerk and that he ruined what would have been an amazing birthday. Well at least you had a bit of an adventure and you'll always remember your 40th, at least the bits before the 12 Sunset Bonito Surprises. I usually spend my birthdays alone, I've learned that it's better than being disappointed by others. How is your friend doing? And Kramer? take care Janine xx By Janine @ 12 Nov 2008 12:05 am that just not cool sam to have to a person be that mean to u on ur bday i mean ppl are supposed wish u a happy bday not be mean. By karla phelps @ 12 Nov 2008 09:34 am Hi Sam sorry you had a crummy birthday. You didn't deserve all that im sure. If it's any consolation I saw nyc tornado terror last week, first time shown in England what a gr8 film By Rashida @ 12 Nov 2008 09:56 am *hugs* hi, sorry to hear you had a bad birthday. Don`t worry you will find someone nice soon. We loved meeting you at Asylum. Next time we have the pleasure to meet you, we bake a cake for you. 100% chocolate! By Melanie & Rebecca @ 12 Nov 2008 10:01 am That sounds terrible. I can't believe the fates treated you like that! Okay, that sounds kind of cheesey, but it doesn't seem fair that such a great woman and actress should have such a terrible 40th. At least the hotel and the beach sounds nice, so it wasn't a complete waste, right? I hope you're feeling better. Until next time, Cyas. Jake By Jake @ 12 Nov 2008 12:15 pm Well that certainly sucks. You have my condolences and if I ever have the pleasure of meeting you in person, I'll be sure to bring chocolate. You need to go find yourself a nice horse and go for a ride. By Julene @ 12 Nov 2008 12:39 pm Birthday disaster indeed! So sorry to hear about that!! Uh, and happy birthday, by the way... Had a hell of a month and I totally forgot your bday, along with the one of a friend of mine who celebrates it the same day you do. Once again, sorry! Back on the subject... Personally the last couple of years I celebrated my birthdays with two of my best gals, just eating japanese, getting drunk and having some fun with the two of them. Since it worked so well the first time, I kept celebrating it that way... Sometimes it's so much better having your friends there by your side than some random guy... Then again, it seems it didn't turn out that bad once you were on your own... Take care hugs By Eleonora @ 12 Nov 2008 12:44 pm Hey Sam! Sorry, you had such a crappy b-day... That guy sounds like he was a real jerk anyways... Are you okay? You'll meet someone better than him, believe me, it'll happen at the right time... Anyways... That drink you had sounds yummy though... :) Nothing on the acting front? I'm sure something will turn up soon... Things will get much better, keep your chin up Sam! Okay... (I'm leaving) Ya me voy (Many hugs girl), Muchas Abrazas chica ~Melissa~ By Melissa @ 12 Nov 2008 01:27 pm Aw, Sam, so sorry your birthday didn't work out the way you'd hoped. You learned something, so it wasn't a complete wash. When I was younger, I actually believed there would come a time when I would know EVERYTHING and couldn't learn a damn thing more; how depressing to find out that, at 54, I know virtually nothing and have much yet to learn! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Sam! We miss you so much on SUPERNATURAL and are still hoping to see Ellen back one of these days. Love, Robin By Robin @ 13 Nov 2008 04:45 am So here's what you do: On December 2, you celebrate your Birthday all over by throwing a party for all your friends in Vancouver who told you not to go in the first place! By Ace @ 17 Nov 2008 10:07 am If you haven't any plans for next birthday why don't you come to Britain? I promise to show you around...shouldn't take long its a fair bit smaller than Canada. I'll buy you a real beer in a proper pub...several in fact! You up for it? By Carl @ 18 Nov 2008 11:44 am Hi Samantha, I want to said Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you have a wonderful feast with your family and friends! hugs, Elisa By Elisa @ 27 Nov 2008 11:19 am Awww, poor you *hugs*. It's a while since I've been on here and when I do I find you having a crappy time :( I've had so many ruined birthdays it's become a standing joke. It's a horrible feeling though, one that makes you want to regress to childhood and throw an almighty tantrum. On the upside, Carl sounds nice and free beer, even nicer. I vote for the trip to the UK for your next birthday :) By Carol @ 28 Nov 2008 05:04 am Samantha, I'm a late comer to 4400. It's an incredible show. Don't know why it was canceled. I'm currently in middle of season 3 and just want to let you know that you are awsome and gorgeous in the show. You did a great job. Sorry to hear about your birthday. Come to Dallas, TX and you can get back those 6 nights on me. Mine is coming up on the 13th of this month and I'll be thinking of your ordeal and won't pity myself. Anyways just wanted to drop a line saying kudos and good fortune to you. Alan By Alan @ 02 Dec 2008 11:23 am
